Hello Everyone!
This week I was able to create an account through
Twitter and connect with fellow classmates and other individuals or
companies of interest. In addition, I also utilized the ‘Lists’ tool in which
allow for me to put a collection of fellow classmates and various other
personalities in one particular group for maximum observation. I found Twitter
to be extremely useful because it allowed for an individual like me to collect
and observe various pieces of information and opinions that may be useful to me
throughout my academic journey.
After exploring the online phenomenon that is
Twitter in a more in-depth manner, I was able to learn just how useful
this particular application and the tools in which it possesses are from an
educational perspective. Personally, I found that Twitter allowed for me
to grasp the opinions of highly publicized personalities and utilize
educational tips and tricks from various helpful websites; permitting for me to
become a more informed individual. In addition, having the ability to retweet
and like the tweets from other accounts provided me with the opportunity to
share my views and opinions with others; ultimately allowing for me to feel
like a more informed individual. Moreover, having used Twitter for
several years now, I have found that the abundance of educational resources
shared throughout this particular application has provided me with
opportunities to expand my knowledge through various websites and articles.
PLE
& Twitter:
The term PLE has been brought up each and every week
of the ADED 1P32 course. Personally, I feel as though a PLE at your disposal
allows for any individual to realize where information and various resources
can be obtained from. Thus, not capitalizing on the ability to obtain a PLE may
leave an individual lost and stressed out about where information can be
located. In particular, I would categorize Twitter under
socializing/collaborating because the application provides an individual like
me to converse and connect with various individuals and resources. Lastly, I
would also place it under synthesizing and creating due to the fact that I can
effectively provide new and useful information that other individuals may
utilize in the future.
Weekly
Reader Item!
This week I found an article from the Education: NPR
website (through my feedly of course) in which depicts the notion that
testing within the United States of America is effectively poor and simplistic.
Although it focuses on the educational sphere of the U.S., I think it is a
useful article to read!
That’s it for this week!

Hi Cole.
ReplyDeleteA agree with a lot of your points about how Twitter can be used as an educational tool. I like that you mentioned that Twitter allowed you "to grasp the opinions of highly publicized personalities and utilize educational tips and tricks from various helpful websites; permitting for me to become a more informed individual."
I think that a lot of people see Twitter as a social place to gossip and talk to friends, and knowing the educational side of it is interesting and informative!
